About Clear Fork Pilates

by Movement Integration Studio

A place to move, learn and grow.

Clear Fork Pilates takes its name from the Clear Fork of the Trinity River — a familiar part of the Fort Worth landscape and a connection to the place we call home. Rooted in Fort Worth, the studio was created around a simple belief: Pilates is more than a workout. It is a practice that can continue to teach us throughout our lives.

Whether this is your first time stepping onto a mat, a Reformer or another piece of Pilates’ apparatus, you are returning to deepen an established practice, or you are a student teacher beginning your journey into the profession, there is a place for you here.

Clear Fork Pilates brings together movement, education and community in an environment where people are encouraged to become curious about their bodies, develop confidence in their movement and continue learning at every stage of their Pilates journey.

Meet Janet Wood

Clear Fork Pilates was founded by Janet Wood Director of Movement Integration Studio, an international Pilates and Somatic Movement teacher and Balanced Body Educator whose career in movement spans more than three decades.

Janet has spent much of that time not only teaching Pilates, but teaching the people who teach Pilates.

As a Balanced Body Educator, she has worked with students and teachers at many different stages of their development — from those taking their first steps into teacher training to experienced professionals continuing their education.

Her background also includes Clinical Somatic Education, Sports Massage Therapy, and performance coaching, bringing a broader perspective to the way she approaches movement, learning and the individual experience of the body.

Over the years, Janet’s work has taken her through different schools of Pilates, different countries and different approaches to movement. Her teaching reflects a respect for the history and principles of Pilates alongside a curiosity about how the work continues to grow and evolve.

That philosophy became the foundation for Clear Fork Pilates.

A Different Kind of Studio

Clear Fork Pilates is both a community Pilates studio and a place of education.

Central to that philosophy is our Resident Instructor program, which creates a supported pathway for developing teachers to gain real teaching experience, build confidence and find their own voice within a professional studio environment.

Resident Instructors have opportunities to teach, observe, practice and learn alongside experienced educators as they make the transition from student teacher to working professional.

But the structure serves another important purpose.

It helps make Pilates more accessible.

By bringing together teachers at different stages of their careers, Clear Fork Pilates can offer a wider variety of classes at approachable prices while maintaining the care, professionalism and quality of teaching at the heart of the studio.

It creates something we believe is valuable for everyone.

New students have a welcoming place to begin. Experienced practitioners have somewhere to deepen their practice.

Developing teachers have somewhere to grow. And the wider community has greater access to Pilates and movement education.

You may find someone stepping onto a Reformer for the very first time alongside someone who has practiced Pilates for twenty years — while elsewhere in the studio, a future teacher is learning their craft.

That mixture is intentional.

Clear Fork Pilates was created to be a place where we can practice, learn, teach and belong.

Because wherever you are in your Pilates journey, there is always something more to discover.

Come as you are. Start where you are. Keep learning.
